- My Story -My story needs to be shared. (Yes, itβs all true)
Many years ago, a speeding drunk driver crossed into my lane.
Very drunk. Probably unconscious. Speeding very fast.
Head-on collision.
Estimated impact: 120 mph (about 200 kph).Severe TBI (traumatic brain injury).
Two months in a coma. Nine months in hospitals.
My wife left me. Then years of rehab. The other driver and his passenger were killed. This is the newspaper photo of my car. The X marks where I sat.

This is what I came back from. That was over 40 years ago.
I do not walk well and cannot drive.Severe TBI cases usually end in institutionalization or death.
I'm still here!
Everything changed - my identity, purpose, and direction.
One thing did not change - the strength I felt.
The greatest lesson of my life
is discovering inner strength
I share my story to say 3 things:
β Never mix alcohol and driving.
β I'm alive. So are you. That's a miracle worth appreciating.
β Feeling life within is a constant source of strength.Joel

I've written 2 books about
inner strength
